The bloody good (and just plain bloody) British period drama Peaky Blinders has been renewed for a third season by BBC Two. According to Variety, Netflix will be the exclusive home to Season 3, streaming it in the U.S. after it airs in the U.K.
The show, which stars Cillian Murphy as gangster Tommy Shelby, is set in a post-World War I Birmingham, England and follows the dangerous exploits of the Peaky Blinders, a violent gang known for wielding the razorblades sewn into the peaks of their caps (hence their name and the show's title).
The intense six-episode first season, which has been available to stream on Netflix since Sept. 30, follows Shelby's ambitious attempts to grow his influence even as the gang comes to the attention of Chief Inspector Chester Campbell (Sam Neill).
According to creator Steven Knight, the show's third season will further expand the Shelby empire and be "more lucrative, more dangerous and more international."
