Jeff Daniels is headed to Showtime for a round of good cop, bad cop!
Showtime announced Wednesday that Emmy winner and Tony and Golden Globe nominee Jeff Daniels (The Looming Tower, The Newsroom, Godless) has been recruited to star in Rust, a new drama series told through the eyes of a "complicated and compromised chief of police" in southwest Pennsylvania. Daniels is set to play that chief of police, Del Harris, who is forced to decide how far he's willing to go to protect his true love's son when the son is accused of murder. Daniels will also executive produce.
Producer and Oscar nominee Dan Futterman describes the series as "a touching human story of the corrosion of the American dream" that also has a bit of a murder mystery vibe.
No anticipated release date or further casting details for Rust have been announced.
