Haleigh Broucher is the latest Big Brother houseguest to take a good swim in problematic hot water. Broucher was caught on the live feeds making an extremely insensitive comment about disabled people, as first pointed out by Soap Dirt.
Broucher was hanging out with JC Mounduix and Tyler Crispen when she opened a fortune that said, "Nothing can stop you from reaching your goals." Broucher responded to the fortune by saying, "That is not true because if you are paralyzed, you cannot reach anything,"
Crispen called Broucher out for the offensive remark immediately. "That is the worst thing I've ever heard you say," he told her. "You need to rephrase that."
Even Mounduix, who has been at the center of several scandals this summer, attempted to help Broucher recognize how insensitive her comment was, saying he'd seen "people like that" reach their goals. Although not the best response, it's... something, at least. (God this bar is so low.)
So far, Big Brother 20 has showcased several instances of offensive behavior. Mounduix has been involved in multiple incidents that led to allegations of sexual harassment and assault, as well incidents in which he used the N-word and insensitively joked about the #MeToo movement. Kaitlyn Herman also dropped an N-bomb earlier this summer when quoting a Drake song. Meanwhile, white houseguests Rachel Swindler and Angela Rummans joked they could change races if they tanned outside long enough.
Broucher's days in the house might be numbered though as Kaycee Clark is currently HoH and is gunning for the young college student.
Big Brother 20 airs Sundays and Wednesdays at 8/7c and Thursdays at 9/8c on CBS.
