The TV gods have heard our prayers! Starz has renewed Vida for Season 2!

The soapy dramedy about two Latina sisters who return to their childhood home of East Los Angeles after the death of their mother concluded its six-episode first outing on Sunday, but as Vida creator Tanya Saracho told TV Guide, the first season was only the beginning of Emma (Mishel Prada) and Lyn's (Melissa Barrera) story.

Vida pulled off a rare feat in television by growing its audience as the series went on. According to Starz, the viewership for the show grew 60 percent between the premiere on May 6 and Sunday's finale. That means that people watched, loved it and told their friends to watch and so on.

Vida Boss Says Season 1 Is "Just the Beginning" and Shares Hopes for Season 2

As they should. Vida is unlike anything else on TV as it takes a deep-dive into the Mexican-American community of Los Angeles finding the crossroads with the LGBTQ community. The first season lasted a total of three hours, and even in that short amount of time the series explored sexuality, grief, faith and asked the tough question of can you really always come home again?

The sophomore season will continue with those themes as Emma and Lyn have decided to stay in Los Angeles, repair the bar their mom left them and preside over the apartment building they now own. We can definitely drink to that!

Vida Season 1 is now streaming on Starz.
