The Walking Dead will use the second episode of the second half of Season 9 to fill in the backstory of Lydia (Cassady McClincy) and her mother Alpha (Samantha Morton). The episode will use flashbacks to the beginning of the zombie apocalypse to explain how Alpha and Lydia become the skin-suited weirdos they are, as told by Lydia to Henry (Matt Lintz) as they sit in jail while Daryl (Norman Reedus) eavesdrops on their conversation.

This exclusive sneak peek comes as Daryl reveals what he's up to when Henry gets a little too trusting with Lydia and reveals some information he shouldn't.

"What the hell's wrong with you, huh?" Daryl says. "Telling her about the Kingdom. What if there's more of her people out there? You've got family at the Kingdom."

At first, Henry realizes his mistake, but then he quickly gets mad that Daryl was listening to him and using him.

"She's a good person who got messed up out there," Henry says. "And she's right about you, you know that? You're an asshole."

Maybe that's true, but he's trying to keep everyone safe, you know? And maybe it's not true at all. Daryl may surprise us in "Omega."

The Walking Dead airs Sundays at 9/8c on AMC. Prior seasons are available to stream on Netflix.
