With lawyers under siege by disgruntled clients, Season 2 of The Good Fight will undoubtedly test the strength of Diane (Christine Baranski) and the rest of the team at Reddick, Boseman, & Kolstadshow. For Lucca (Cush Jumbo), who is on track to become a partner, her life will become especially complicated now that she's carrying her first child.

"Her biggest concern is how to navigate being pregnant [and] not being with the father, and remaining as professional at work [while] working towards being a partner," Cush Jumbo tells TV Guide.

Dealing with a full plate, which also includes defending Maia (Rose Leslie) in her trial and frequently encountering her ex Colin (Justin Bartha), won't be easy for the brilliant attorney, but the experience will force Lucca to look inward and realize that she doesn't have to go about everything alone.

The Good Fight Will Dive Into Trump Impeachment in Season 2

"She's gonna discover in herself that vulnerability doesn't always mean weakness and that strength isn't always a good thing when you try to go at everything alone, do everything yourself. Sometimes you need to ask for help," explains Jumbo. "It's a season where you get to know her even more deeply and you see these sides to her that you haven't before."

As Lucca digs deep within, she and the other layers will have to hold their own against the psychological warfare from the mysterious individuals sending death threats their way. Unsure of which clients they can trust, they'll end up questioning their every move — making each decision about their cases all the more difficult.

"They are now living underneath an insane president and in a world where people have really taken [up] against the law system and private lawyers in particular," Jumbo says. "It makes for a very uneasy atmosphere. It can make some of the decisions even harder to make because they are always worrying about who they're going to defend next or where that decision might lead."

Despite the stressful times ahead, Jumbo says The Good Fight won't be so dark this season as to lose its fun. "Quite a lot of the stuff that is dark is also funny because it's just so surreal. This not going to be a depressing watch by any stretch of the imagination," she assured.

The new season will also explore more of Jay (Nyambi Nyambi) and Marissa's (Sarah Steele) backgrounds, including the latter's blossoming friendship with Maia. Plus, you'll get to see The Good Wife alum Liz Lawrence (Audra McDonald), who is revealed to be the ex-wife of (Delroy Lindo), mixing it up with Diane. And McDonald isn't the only The Good Wife vet returning! Carrie Preston, who previously appeared in The Good Fight's first season, will reprise her role as quirky fan favorite Elsbeth again this year.

The Good Fight Season 2 premieres March 4, 2018 on CBS All Access.
