Happy Friday! You can head into this holiday weekend with your first taste of Showtime's upcoming dark comedy series Black Monday right now. The premium network has made the full first episode of the distressingly-maybe-a-little-timely-since-the-stock-market-is-crazy-right-now Black Monday available for free on YouTube for your streaming enjoyment right now.
Black Monday is the story of the worst stock market crash in Wall Street history, which occurred on Monday, Oct. 19, 1987. The series stars Don Cheadle as Mo, the head of a ragtag Wall Street trading team that includes Regina Hall as Dawn, Paul Scheer as Keith, Horatio Sanz as Wayne and Yassir Lester as Yassir. The first episode sees Andrew Rannells join the group as Blair, a green young trader who immediately dives into the deep end and ends up over his head.
The series comes from Happy Endings writer David Caspe and My Best Friend's Girl scribe Jordan Cahan. The 10-episode season doesn't officially premiere until Sunday, Jan. 20 but now you can be the cool kid and check it out early by clicking on the video above. Get to it!
Black Monday premieres Sunday, Jan. 20 at 10/9c on Showtime after the midseason premiere of Shameless.
