Queer Eye, Netflix's updated reboot of the makeover show, has been renewed for a second season.
The show overcame initial skepticism of how its premise of gay men improving the lives of straight men would play in 2018 through deeply emotional storytelling and the charisma of its Fab Five, grooming expert Jonathan Van Ness, style expert Tan France, design expert Bobby Berk, culture expert Karamo Brown and culinary expert Antoni Porowski.
Queer Eye was one of a heaping handful of unscripted series Netflix renewed on Monday. War on drugs docuseries Dope, gangster history show Drug Lords, Nicole Byer-hosted amateur(ish) baking competition Nailed It! and history of toys docuseries The Toys That Made Us also scored renewal notices.
"These series elevate the genre with innovative takes on familiar formats," Bela Bajaria, Vice President of Content for Netflix, said in a statement. "They deliver immersive and nuanced stories. They elicit so many emotions from viewers, from tears of laughter to tears of joy - and that's just Queer Eye."
All five series are currently streaming on Netflix.
